Rob is a co-founder of Digital Envoy and oversees the sales and product, business and corporate development and strategy for Digital Element, the geolocation business unit of Digital Envoy. Since 1999, Rob has been at the forefront of the geolocation movement in the ecommerce, ad and search space, taking Internet geolocation from its inception and helping to make it the “must-have” feature it is today.

For nearly 15 years, Rob has worked closely with advertising, marketing and ecommerce businesses across the spectrum (including companies such as Google, AOL, Microsoft, Yahoo, eBay, Facebook, Twitter, GSI Commerce, Adobe/Omniture and F5 Systems) to deploy Digital Element’s technology and optimizing their use of geolocation technology. Rob has authored numerous papers and articles in the field of Internet geolocation, and holds over ten US patents on IP geolocation technology and its various uses in targeting products and content and routing Internet traffic.

Before co-founding Digital Envoy, Rob served as General Counsel for Arris [NASDAQ: ARRS] and also worked as senior legal counsel for Nortel Networks, after several years of private law practice. Rob also has served as an adjunct professor of law at Emory University School of Law.

Rob holds an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina, and graduated first in his class from the Emory University School of Law. Rob spends his free time as a stock photographer and travel baseball coach, and is an avid North Carolina Tar Heel fan.
